Williamsburg Whole Foods Gets OddFellows, No. 7, and Deli Nodding to Nabe’s ‘Storied Roots’
We already knew that Luke’s Lobster was bringing an outpost of its lobster-tail cart to the forthcoming Williamsburg location of Whole Foods, and Roberta’s has been teasing the sticky buns (and other breads) it’ll bring to the table. Now comes news that some other local institutions will be repped at the megastore’s food hall, including OddFellows Ice Cream, No. 7, and East Coast Poke (which, sorry, is not a Pokemon gym, but a Smorgasburg vendor that specializes in Hawaiian salmon-and-rice bowls). Because if there’s one thing the Urban Outfitters concept store taught us about chain retailers, it’s that one simply does not walk into Williamsburg without giving some space to indie producers.
Ralph Lauren Opens in Williamsburg Friday, Like It Or Not
Just in time for Halloween, it’s Williamsburg’s worst nightmare. We’re told Ralph Lauren’s Double RL & Co will open Friday morning at 85 North 3rd Street, right next to the new Steven Alan Optical store and just around the corner from the new J.Crew store, and the new Urban Outfitters, and the new Madewell, and the new (and now boozed-up!) Starbucks. Soon the neighborhood will be called Williamsburg Mills.
Will a New Pop-Up Gallery at Whole Foods Turn EV Bloggers Against Each Other?
Whole Foods Market® Bowery, as it’s written in a press release, is opening a pop-up gallery featuring “LES-centric artwork” on its second-floor mezzanine, in partnership with the LES BID. Artists are invited to propose art “based on a combination of past and present themes that relate to the Lower East Side”; five winners will be selected to have their work displayed for a month, starting with a preview during the annual LES Opening Night: Art + Fashion on Sept. 7.

Sweetgreen Is Opening a Williamsburg Outpost Across From Whole Foods
This summer 162 N. 4th Street will be home sweet home to sweetgreen, the Washington, D.C.-based chain of salad spots. The new location, on the corner of Bedford Avenue, will benefit from the foot traffic Whole Foods Willamsburg generates when it eventually opens across the street, and will share a building with forthcoming locations of Umami Burger and Parm.

Hester Street Fair Is Opening a Cafe in the New Museum
The corner of Bowery and Houston is about to become the cornucopia of Bowery and Houston. Just steps from the Whole Foods that hosts Brooklyn Flea’s Smorgasburg, the Flea’s Manhattan counterpart, the Hester Street Fair, is teaming up with the New Museum to open the Hester Street Cafe.
