Shake Shack has finally landed in Williamsburg, and that’s just the start of recent Shacktivity. Over at the Astor Place location, which opened in October, a new BBQ Pulled Pork Burger hit the menu today.
The Shack’s latest creation is a cheeseburger– available as a single at $7.49 or a double at $10.29– topped with Niman Ranch BBQ pulled pork, jalapeño slaw and pickles. Its summer test run started today at the Herald Square, Penn Station, Queen’s Center, Astor Place, Upper West Side, and Downtown Brooklyn locations.
A Shack rep says it can be ordered exclusively via the Shake Shack app and will be available for in-house purchase starting July 14, but when we stopped into the Astor Place location today it was already loaded up on at least one of the electronic ordering kiosks.
The pork burger isn’t currently being sold at the long-awaited Williamsburg Shake Shack, which opened July 1 at 160 Berry Street (formerly home to Blue Bottle, before it moved to North 4th Street). But there’s no shortage of exclusives there. New frozen-custard concretes feature mix-ins from local purveyors Du’s Donuts (the Just Du It features vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, chocolate donut, brownie crumble and chocolate toffee), Mast Brothers (the Shack Attack features chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, dark chocolate chunks, and chocolate sprinkles) and Four & Twenty Blackbirds (the Pie Oh My features vanilla custard and seasonal pie).
