A priest and a hipster walk into a bar… and go to confession?
It’s no joke (okay, maybe a little bit of a joke?): Greenpoint bar The Diamond is turning the decommissioned ski gondola that’s in its back patio into a confessional, complete with legit pastor. “Is the weight of your own foolishness heavy upon your spirit?” the bar asks in an announcement. “Did you vote for the wrong candidate, and now regret it?”

The web’s best animators set out to prove that everything is scarier when it’s looped for all eternity at this contest from the folks at GIPHY and Brooklyn’s Animation Block Party. The coolest entries are being screened and measured up by celebrity judges at the Brooklyn Bazaar’s new four-story space — here’s hoping for lots of animated homages to the dancing pumpkin man. Plus, on Saturday BK Bazaar is doing their “Brooklyn Fright Bazaar,” with musical tributes to The Cramps and The Bee Gees, games, karaoke (guess they found a manager), a Halloween drinking game contest (yikes), food and more.

If you wanna win big in Greenpoint Wednesday night, you’re gonna need a secret weapon in your back pocket: Visine. And no, put away your stash– the Cannabis Cup hasn’t moved to North Brooklyn. It’s the second biannual staring contest at The Diamond!
This beloved neighborhood bar will host their second staring contest of the year, with the famous bust of Michael Landon watching over to ensure fair play. “It’s pretty much like what it sounds, and it’s really fun,” said Dave Pollack, owner of The Diamond in Greenpoint.

The Diamond is always one for quirky events (remember Lena Dunham trivia?) but this one made us do a double take. Try to read this without your eyes popping out of your head.
