And yes, the designer clothing and furniture boutique, which doubles as a coffee shop, is actually being quite sincere with a few price tags upwards of $1,000 and a slick minimal white, grey, and glass interior.

They Named a Street After Biggie’s Record Store in Bed-Stuy

On the heels of the closure of Kim’s Video & Music, it was somewhat heartening, on Tuesday, to see another beloved vinyl shop being embraced by its community – albeit three years after it closed in Bed-Stuy.
Over 50 people gathered for the unveiling of the “Birdel’s Records Way” sign that now sits at Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street. The block, stretching from that intersection to Atlantic Ave., was renamed to commemorate the neighborhood music store that Hardy “Joe” Long owned and operated for nearly 50 years.

It was nine months ago that Apostrophe, a Bushwick , was shut down after cops busted its anniversary celebration. Undeterred by a night in jail and a lengthy probation, brothers Ki and Sei Smith are vaulting back into the saddle with a party Friday night and the launch of a Kickstarter campaign designed to revive the Apostrophe universe.

Banksy Piece Gets Defaced, Restored, and Then… Framed?

Banksy took to the Williamsburg-Bed Stuy border today for the 17th installment of . Hours after his piece went up on Cook Street, off of Graham Avenue, it was vandalized. But a few art-friendly Good Samaritans did some on-the-spot restoration and — although a smudge is still visible — the mural is pretty much clear.
While B+B was on the scene, a man covered the right figure with a square piece of blue Plexiglas. Hysteria ensued as everyone remembered the guy who, a few days ago, tried to charge people $20 to take a picture of a Banksy piece.
