World Nutella Day is upon us again. Let us bow our heads and raise our spoons in silent appreciation.
For die-hard fans, Nutella isn’t just a “chocolately hazelnut spread,” it’s a way of life. Its unofficial holiday, dramatically cancelled in 2013 and restored soon after by popular demand, is taken quite seriously.
In honor of the ooey-gooey goodness that sells like hotcakes (a jar every 2.5 seconds around the world) and inspires the most lucrative of gastronomic heists, we’ve rounded up the most deliciously decadent Fererro-inspired desserts.

The Dough’ssant, with its custardy hazlenut chocolate filling, is a customer favorite. Really, in the half hour we were there, three consecutive customers beelined for the Chickalicious’s Fererro-fueled version of the cronut.

Rizzo’s serves a thin-crusted Nutella pizza topped with mini chocolate chips, cannoli cream, and powdered sugar. “Who doesn’t like Nutella,” says owner Bugsy of the sweet treat.

AND TO DRINK…
While a Yelp reviewer, Michelle W., claims that Black Cat Coffee, at 172 Rivington St., adds Nutella upon request to hot chocolate and coffee drinks, we were disappointed to learn that they do not. They do, however, boast a variety of Nutella desserts from cookies to crêpes. Those looking to slurp Nutella by the pound can try Koffeecake Corner in Chelsea.
