If you tend to doze off at the opera, rest assured this one’ll rouse (and arouse?) you: Sarah Screams’ forthcoming show at Drom will combine opera and burlesque to create what can only be called “Operotica.” As if that’s not enough, the night of arias and areolas will also feature excerpts from a bonkers-sounding “porn opera.”

Wand and Honey at Death By Audio (and possibly, maybe Ty Segall)
Wand, the garage-psych outfit from California that’s been opening for Ty Segall just before he absconds the Land of The Free for the Eurozone, will play a show of their own on Tuesday night at DBA. Oh yeah, and rumor has it Ty Segall might actually show his face as well. Ty’s appearance isn’t completely out of the question — after all, his video for “Goodbye Bread” was shot inside the DIY venue, and DBA is closing soon, meaning this could be his last chance to play a venue he’s clearly pretty fond of. Definitely joining Wand are the local dudes from Honey.

Leeds-based indie rock outfit Kaiser Chiefs have hopped the pond to promote their new album, Education, Education, Education & War. The band is famous for rocking festivals with big stage sets and light shows, pulling every stunt short of a miniature Stonehenge. Their most recognizable single is probably “Ruby,” released back in ’07. Bottom line, you will not be bored at this show.
