A Facebook message from the shop informs fans that some of its staffers and owners will be posted up at East River State Park, “digging into their personal collections and selling some great rare LPs and 45s, as well as a MASSIVE collection of awesome (and CHEAP!) used CDs and CD box sets, plus some Other Music march.”
They’re just the tip of the iceberg, too. Over 60 vendors are converging next to the madness that is Smorgasburg on Saturday. Among the Brooklyn labels that’ll be represented are Fool’s Gold, Mexican Summer, Northern Spy, Cascine, Captured Tracks, and more– and folks from some of those same labels will be DJing. Local shops Rough Trade, Academy Records, Halcyon and Commend will be getting some air, and others (namely Vintage Vinyl) are coming in all the way from France. Plus, you can dig through the crates of collectors like WFMU’s music director Brian Turner, fashion writer Diego Hadis, Endless Boogie guitarist Jesper Eklow, and Tom Lax of Siltbreeze Records.
Brooklyn Flea Record Fair, Sept. 24 from 11am to 6pm at East River Park, Williamsburg.
