Williamsburg comfort-food institution Pies ‘n’ Thighs has sent over some details about the Canal Street location it now says it’ll open in the middle of the month.

“Most of the classics are coming over, along with some new additions,” says an e-mail from owners Sarah Sanneh and Carolyn Bane, echoing what Sanneh told us back in March of last year. “We’re excited to debut a new donut made with a natural yeast rye starter.  It’s sour and sweet, crunchy and chewy, unusual and familiar… everything we hoped to find in a sourdough donut.”

“New additions on the savory side are a collard green salad with lime vinaigrette, avocado, pickled red onion, and smoked coconut.  We’ll also be serving an herby chicken soup with chicken dumplings and our special side will be cauliflower gratin,” the update continues.

Dinner hours will be 5 p.m. to midnight, with breakfast and lunch served from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and brunch served from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Canal Street food scene with other restaurants we love like Dimes and Mission Chinese,” the owners say.

With delivery starting just a couple of weeks after opening, we’re excited they’ll be part of it, too.
