637 Driggs last year, when it was vacant.

Just weeks after San Loco closed its Avenue A store of 15 years, there’s been another shakeup in the empire: the Williamsburg store will close April 20, according to a manager who, citing a conversation with his boss, told us, “I think we lost our lease.”

“I know we’re moving,” said Pablo, who declined to give a last name. Indeed a public notice indicates the “gringo-Mex” institution plans to relocate from 160 North 4th Street, where it opened in 2006, to 637 Driggs Avenue, near Grand Street. But Pablo couldn’t say when that would happen. The restaurant will ask Community Board 1 to support its application for a liquor license at a hearing tomorrow.

If and when the move happens, Driggs will be quite the strip of transplanted East Village institutions: Crif Dogs opened near North 7th Street in early 2011, Two Boots opened across the street earlier this year, and Max opened near South 3rd Street last month.
