Vogue might have mixed feelings about Brooklyn, but the men’s magazines seem to be embracing it wholeheartedly.

GQ just dropped a “City Guide” that rounds up its favorite bars, restaurants and shops in the, well, onetime city of Brooklyn (the mag already had a Manhattan-only “New York” guide). Among its North Brooklyn picks are St. Anselm, The Commodore (now you can really forget about snagging a table at those two), Wythe Hotel, The Elm, Tørst, Maison Premiere, and Hickoree’s.

You’ll notice there weren’t any Bushwickers on that list, but Esquire managed to go a few stops further on the L for their new TV show, Best Bars in America. Like GQ, the show gives props to Maison Premiere, whose chef, Lisa Giffen, recently showed New York how to shuck an oyster. When the series premieres on the Esquire Network June 25 at 10 p.m., hosts Jay Larson and Sean Patton will also visit Radegast, Cobra Club and Bushwick Country Club (and in the East Village: McSorley’s, PDT, Golden Cadillac, and Booker & Dax).

The show finds the comedians and drinking buds attempting to hit all the places on David Wondrich’s yearly list of Best Bars in America, which last month bestowed honors on Golden Cadillac and Saxon + Parole in the East Village, plus Attaboy on the LES. (That a boy, Attaboy!)

At this point, it’s only a matter of time before Montana Masback is giving beard growing advice in Details.
