Governors Island was infested with Bugs on Sunday, and not just the usual dragonflies. Dozens of Beetles, camper vans, and hippie buses rolled onto the ferries in the morning and circled up in the grass of Picnic Point for the VW Traffic Jam, a Dub-lover’s paradise of vintage Volkswagens.

While participants in the annual car show paid $35 each to show off their air-cooled rides, spectators strolled in for free and could sip beers while checking out the throwback Karmann Gia coupés and convertibles, along with a few VW-collab Porsches. Of course, there were also some tent-topped Westies. With the nifty new VW Californias only available abroad, the vintage Vanagons are sadly the only way to live your best #Vanlife in the States.

Anyway, Sunday’s weather was perfect enough to almost make you forgive Volkswagen’s diesel-emission sins. Click through our slideshow and see if you can spot the obligatory Herbie homage.
