When Mac DeMarco took the stage at Governors Ball yesterday afternoon, he told everyone he was psyched to be back in New York. In case you didn’t hear, the troubadour made the obligatory move to Los Angeles last year, ditching his Rockaway digs for a grown-up place in Silver Lake. But not to worry, he’ll be back soon. His label, Greenpoint’s own Captured Tracks, just announced that he’s playing Radio City Music Hall in September.
You heard right: Radio City Music Hall. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 9, at 10am. Seems DeMarco has blown up since his Baby’s All Right days—he’s also appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Friday. But don’t worry, he’s still keeping things lo-fi. The new video for “One Another,” out today, was shot by former bandmate Pierce McGarry, and clearly takes place in Mac’s own house. Watch closely and you’ll catch a glimpse of the pool that “looks like something out of a David Hockney painting,” according to W magazine’s recent profile. (He’s shown inside of that pool, Nevermind-style, in a Times profile that pegs him as “the lovable laid-back prince of indie rock”). No, it isn’t Moby’s castle in the Hollywood Hills, but the digs look pretty sweet.
