A day doesn’t go by without a new Smorgasburg popping up somewhere (most recently, Coney Island, South Street Seaport, and Long Island City), and here’s another surprise: the Smorg is moving its long-standing Brooklyn Bridge Park market to increasingly trendy Prospect-Lefferts Gardens.
The Sunday cornucopia has been in Dumbo since 2012, but with Pier 5 now being turned into parkland, Smorg is picking up and moving to Breeze Hill in Prospect Park. From August 30 through October 11, every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (abbreviated hours on Labor Day weekend), you’ll find Smorg off of the Lincoln Road entrance, near the LeFrak Center at Lakeside and the Audubon Center at the Boathouse. With no less than 100 vendors dishing out ramen burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, those super popular Best Buds Burritos, and all the rest, this could just squash the whole “picnic in the park” thing. Not to mention, our PLG go-to for jerk chicken, Peppa’s, will get some competition in Excell’s Kingston Eatery.
There’ll be no change to Williamsburg Smog, every Saturday at East River State Park.
