Last month, Tina Fey and the cast of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt said the new season would start production August 17 and, like clockwork, the crew was set up outside of 164 Eagle Street today. (Yep, for all of the show’s jokes about how bad Kimmy’s neighborhood is, the series is actually filmed in Greenpoint.) The location, seemingly rigged for interior shots, was one of three sets in the neighborhood.
Back in June, the show’s star, Ellie Kemper, told The Hollywood Reporter that the new season, which still doesn’t have a release date, will reveal more about Kimmy’s landlord Lillian and her roommate, played by Tituss “not Hannibal Buress” Burgess. Plus we get to meet Kimmy’s mom, Dotty. “What I know about her is that she wore short skirts and maybe wasn’t the most attentive mother,” Kemper said. “So it might be a sad revelation who the mother was.”
Given the Greenpoint filming location, we just want to know of Kimmy ever runs into Hannah Horvath.
