Have a look at the drinks menu that Williamsburg’s Trophy Bar launched this week and right under the Paris Is Byrrhning you’ll see a Call Me Caitlyn, consisting of gin, egg white, absinthe, and lemon juice.

And there she is again, on the new summer drinks menu at (Le) Poisson Rouge: The Caitlyn. LPR’s head mixologist Laura Smith explained to us that while she was playing around with coconut water and scotch (a popular pairing in South America) “news broke about Caitlyn Jenner’s transition and I became interested in juxtaposing the masculine association of scotch with a feminine element. Our Prohibition scotch is 100 proof–as strong as an athlete. By adding the rosewater simple syrup, I felt I’d found that femininity. The Canton Ginger liquor not only nicely rounds out the flavor, but to me, also represents Caitlyn’s bold and courageous spirit.”

A Chelsea bar, Pounds and Ounces, was thinking along the same lines when it created its own Call Me Caitlyn, in which the scotch is “feminized” with honey. In that case, the bar decided to give two bucks from each sale of the $13 bevy to the The LGBT Center.

So there you have it. Next time you’re out and about, toss back some Caitlyn cocktails in the spirit of bringing out your true self (why else do we drink?). Just don’t drink them and drive.
