Snowdays Shavery, the LA-style snow-cream joint we told you about last week, is set to open on East 10th Street tomorrow.

We got our first taste of the stuff this morning and boy is it weird: thanks in part to GMO-free heavy cream from the Hudson Valley, the shaved ice achieves a consistency akin to teddy bear stuffing, but it’s pretty tasty, especially when topped with ingredients like mochi, Fruity Pebbles, marshmallows granola, and Pocky sticks(!).

Fro-yo fans, don’t let the words “heavy cream” scare you: owner Tony Quach says he uses mostly 2% milk and a 24 ounce serving ends up being about 200 calories (depending on how much condensed milk and blueberry puree you choose to drizzle on, of course)

The set menu is below — there’ll be seasonal additions as well, and in a few weeks Quach will introduce “secret” flavors like corn muffin, avocado and birthday cake.
