Last week we broke news that Bon Yagi, mayor of Little Tokyo, was opening Yonekichi, a takeout joint specializing in burgers with grilled rice in lieu of buns. Now team Yagi has sent over photos of a few of the $7-$11 burgers as well as the menu.

Sukiyaki
-thinly-sliced beef, onion, lettuce, togarashi threads
Tsukune
-chicken meatball patty, shishito pepper, Tokyo scallion
Unagi
-bbq eel, avocado, tempura flakes, shredded egg crepe
Saikyo
-kyoto-style miso salmon, pickled daikon radish, shiso, sakura-miso
Kakiage
-onion-kale-carrot mixed tempura, shiso, Akoh salt
Kinpira
-sautéed lotus root, carrot, sesame seed, togarashi threads
Mugi Fuji
-thinly-sliced premium pork shoulder, ginger soy sauce, cabbage
*Optional sunny-side egg recommended especially for Tsukune and Sukiyaki
Furi Furi Potato
Fried potato wedges shaken with choice of the following
-Plain with Akoh salt
-Plum kombu & sansho pepper
-Yuzu salt
-Wasabi salt
Yonekichi is expected to open Aug. 18 (with the possibility of a soft-opening sooner) at 36 E. Ninth St., bet. Second and Third Avenues.
