Dead Stars was tearing through SXSW last time we caught up with them. Today they released a video that — along with their forthcoming album, Slumber, out June 17 — will do still more to solidify them less as occasional Nirvana impersonators and more as rocking band in their own right.

The video for “Someone Else” — shot on an old-school video camera for VHS nostalgics (don’t adjust your tracking) — kicks off inside of frontman Jeff Moore’s workplace, The Levee, and bounces to other Williamsburg locales like Union Pool, Barcade, Main Drag, Burnside, and the Williamsburg Bridge. They even hit up Hair Metal, where Moore wails on guitar while getting his hair did.

You can hear those licks live when the band plays Cake Shop this Saturday, with and Shark?.
