The Pizza Underground played Brooklyn Bowl this past Saturday and footage just hit Youtube, courtesy of Sixdust. Check it out above, and note the cameo by Kurt Cobain’d, singing Nirvana songs in the past tense. If you missed it, don’t worry: you can still catch The Pizza Underground Variety Show at (Le) Poisson Rouge in June.

Unlike the Macaulay Culkin Show, which has nothing to do with Macaulay Culkin, Mac and his bandmates are actually involved in this one.

Also appearing will be Toby Goodshank, the artist and singer-guitarist who, along with Culkin, founded the 3MB (Three Men and a Baby) collective with his former Moldy Peaches bandmate Adam Green.

The show’s “special guests” have yet to be announced, but Green is probably a safe bet, since he directed Culkin and Goodshank in The Wrong Farrari. (Green’s follow-up to that film, an Aladdin remake starring Culkin, was funded on Kickstarter last month. Natasha Lyonne and Alia Shawkat are also attached.)

Dream scenario: Andrew W.K. sits in with The Pizza Underground and belts out a pizza-guitar solo.

The Pizza Underground Variety Show at LPR, 158 Bleecker St., nr. Thompson St., (212) 505-3474; tickets $12 advance and $15 day of show.
