Where does haute taquero Alex Stupak go when Volvo hands him the keys to a brand new car and tells him to drive anywhere? Bushwick, for starters.

In the ad above, Stupak goes from the East Villlage [sic] to Bushwich [sic] (whoever is doing Volvo’s website may want to make spelling a higher priority) before heading up to his former stomping grounds in Boston. “I decided that the first thing we needed to do was go get some really good Mexican food and there’s a ton of it right here in New York City,” he says in the vid. “So we’re going to go to this awesome place in Brooklyn.” And what’s the awesome place? Tortillaria [sic] Mexicana Los Hermanos (seriously, Volvo).

And Stupak isn’t the only creature of the East Village who has recently hyped NYC’s oft-maligned Mexican cuisine. In the latest episode of the Todd Barry Podcast, the comedian briefly spars with LA-based comic Moshe Kasher. “There’s some good stuff,” Barry insists, giving a shoutout to the Tacos Morelos cart (which, he points out, is also a favorite of Aziz Ansari’s). “That taco truck on 2nd and A — not paying me to tell you this — is phenomenal.”

Of course, Barry is also a fan of Chipotle
