Chinatown isn’t the only one that just got a splashy new rooftop hotel bar. Across the water in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the newly opened outpost of Starwood’s “ecoluxury” brand, 1 Hotel, opened its rooftop bar and pool over the weekend.

As with the William Vale in Williamsburg, the views here are unprecedented. From the wraparound terrace, you can see landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center– you can even flip off tourists on the Brooklyn Bridge.

At three feet deep, the narrow, boomerang pool is mostly for show, but hey, you take what you can get. With furniture straight out of the Knoll catalogue and wooden bleachers that resemble the High Line (parts of the hotel were made with wood reclaimed from the Domino Sugar Factory), this isn’t a bad spot to rest your weary bod after a strenuous round of bocce at Pier 2.

Plus, it offers a pretty epic view of another new arrival to Brooklyn Bridge Park, London artist Anish Kapoor’s mesmerizing whirlpool.

The rooftop bar isn’t the hotel’s only amenity. There’s also a ground-floor cafe, Neighbors, offering healthy options like smoothies, avocado toast, and chia.

There’s a lobby lounge specializing in “purpose driven beverages” (here’s hoping the purpose is getting you drunk) that are “centered on local botanicals and seasonally foraged ingredients.”

And there’s a “pop-up beer garden” (some picnic tables and kegs of Brooklyn Brewery or Braven, basically) alongside the park’s walking path.

A 10th floor lounge will open later this summer.

In the meantime, hit The 1 Rooftop, but don’t expect anything too exciting food-wise. Snacks consist of guacamole ($13), a lobster roll ($25) and a hot dog ($7). Beer is $8, wine is $12, and cocktails like the unfortunately named Heatstroke are $16.
