Screen Shot 2015-08-10 at 11.08.01 AMWhile Williamsburg got an outpost of Davey’s Ice Cream last week, the Lower East Side got a self-described “classy gelato joint.” Polpo Gelato has popped up in LESspace, the Allen Street nook that previously housed Michael Alig’s paintings and before that, Los Perros Locos. The store, opened by Harrison Geller, a 17-year-old LaGuardia High School grad who spent some time in Italy, offers gelato in flavors like spicy celery and ricotta stracciatella. The pop-up soft-opened Saturday and runs through the end of August.
