Pedestrian Struck in the East Village; Councilman Calls For Traffic Review in Greenpoint
After a horrific horrific collision between a car and motorcyclist on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint Sunday that left the motorcyclist dead, Councilman Stephen Levin is calling for extensive safety improvements along the avenue. Another motorcylist was killed on Manhattan Avenue in August.

Police, Pols Call For More Safety at ‘Most Dangerous Intersections’ and Beyond

The most dangerous intersections in the East Village and LES, according to information submitted by CBs 2 and 3 to the Manhattan Borough President’s office.
It happened again this morning: around 7 a.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bowery and Hester. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor cuts to the hand and face, according to a fire department spokesperson.
