Schmackary’s Is Latest Manhattanite to Set Up Shop On Bedford Ave

photo-(10)Schmackary’s, a Hell’s Kitchen cookie shop that has enough of a cult following that it’s the subject of a BuzzFeed list, is the latest Manhattan spot to open on (or just off of) Bedford Avenue. The cookie shop joins Meatball Shop, Dos Toros, Umami Burger, Sweetgreen, Davey’s Ice Cream, Joe’s Pizza, The Bean, and soon Gunz and Parm in turning Williamsburg’s main drag into a mini Manhattan.

The Bean Opened Its First BK Location, Bringing the Mosaic Man to Williamsburg

The Bean opened its Williamsburg store today in the swank 101 Bedford complex at the corner of Bedford and North 11th. Full disclosure: we’re tapped into its free WiFi right now. It’s the chain’s first store outside of the East Village, but you’ll find some EV touches as soon as you (and your dog) step inside, in the form of a tiled entryway by Mosaic Man“Mosaic Man” Jim Power and, in the far corner, a wall painting by Nicolina and Walker Fee.

Another Manhattanite, The Bean, Hits Bedford Avenue

Because Bedford Avenue isn’t caffeinated enough, The Bean, a chain of East Village coffee shops popular with NYU students, is planning to open a location along Williamsburg’s main thoroughfare this Spring. And the Manhattanization of Bedford continues!

The Bean’s fourth outpost — in a brand new residential building at 101 Bedford, just a block from McCarren Park — is due to open this April.

Gather ‘Round the Festivus Pole
