The East Village just got a new sandwich shop, so it’s only fair that Williamsburg get one also. Bunk, the Portland, Oregon transplant we told you about back in August, has finally opened in the old Max space on Driggs, just in time to serve up its Thanksgiving sando.

In its first venture outside Portland, Oregon, Bunk Sandwiches is bringing its “kids food for adults”–and “best breakfast sandwich ever”–to Williamsburg. The causal sandwich shop will replace well-loved Italian spot Max at its Driggs Avenue location on the corner of South 3rd Street later this year.

For the city’s DIY scene, the year 2014 was anything but static– openings, closings, you know the drill. And while one little venue might seem like it’s simply joining the list of short-lived venues and tragic casualties, in all probability, Nola Darling is just getting started.
Finally, Bushwick has a watering hole with personal USB ports and outlets built right into the bar, so your iPhone won’t die while you’re ‘gramming the awesome back patio.
