NYC Voters Have the Best Stamina: Lines at 6am, Two-Hour Waits On Election Day

All it took was Madonna playing a surprise pro-Hillary concert in Washington Square Park last night, and New York voters are out in droves this morning. And you should be, too! All it takes is 15 minutes to vote! LOL JK. That may have been true for some lucky folks today. But at Theater for the New City in the East Village, where there were waits of about an hour and a half in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2012, the lines were no better this morning: We counted some 150 people out the door around 10am, and one person reported a two-hour wait there (Update: As of shortly after noon, the line of voters in the 23/74 district, where that two-hour wait was reported, had dwindled to 35.)

We Watched Shia LaBeouf Watching Shia in the Buff, and You Can Too

The rumors are true: Shia LaBeouf is currently holed up in the bowels of Angelika Film Center, where over 70 people are lined up waiting for the opportunity to watch Nymphomaniac with him. The line has steadily grown since I showed up to his #AllMyFilms “performance” around 3:20 p.m., when there were just a few dozen stalkers patrons of the arts queued up.

Line For McCarren Pool’s Faux Opener Blows Yesterday’s Out of the Water

This morning, a line of eager swimmers stretched half the length of McCarren Park Pool and poured onto the sidewalk. Why so many people on day two? Probably because everyone read about the opening . According to a cop on hand, the pool’s unofficial website flubbed up, marking today as the season opener. The pool’s location in “romantic, downtown Greenpoint” (see mildly NSFW screenshot below) is maybe also not the most accurate.
