The Guardian Angels want to “stop the knock out game” with flyers posted near Bowery and Prince, where a 23-year-old Long Island resident was sucker-punched from behind after leaving a bar early Sunday morning.
The flyers, spotted Sunday afternoon, warn pedestrians of a game that’s “senseless and has taken people’s lives.”
It’s uncertain whether the Guardian Angels are also patrolling the neighborhood — the website listed on the flyer is dead and the phone number goes to a jovial answering machine. You don’t see Curtis Sliwa’s boys in red around much anymore but rest assured they’re still kicking, having just celebrated their 35th anniversary.
