Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Is Summering in Coney Island, Via the Coney Art Walls

Coney Island isn’t about to let Rockaway hog all the sun, what with the new food vendors at the Riis Park Beach Bazaar and the Rockaway Beach Club. The folks at Thor Equities just announced that their summer pop-up, the Coney Island Walls, will return for its second season May 28.

‘The Wolfpack Show’ Will Shame Your Silly Store-Bought Halloween Costume

Anyone who saw The Wolfpack at Tribeca or in theaters earlier this year was completely blown away by Crystal Moselle’s documentary about a band of shut-in brothers whose parents had all but imprisoned them inside of a Lower East Side housing project. The movie, just out on DVD and also available for download, has since become a sensation, with the Angulo brothers becoming almost as huge as the Hollywood stars they impersonated in their homegrown movie recreations. Now they’re the subject of “The Wolfpack Show” at Jeffrey Deitch’s space in Soho, and anyone who’s looking for inspiration for a Halloween costume (or inspiration in general) needs to go see it.

Checking Out the Coney Art Walls As They Near Completion

While Bushwick Collective has been hogging all the attention lately (even from local cops), a series of equally impressive murals have been going up these past few weeks in Coney Island, where the New York art world’s prodigal son Jeffrey Deitch has called on some big names to paint a couple dozen walls dotting a concrete lot shared with Coney Smorgasburg.
