Jenni Hensler is convinced most people have no idea who she is, but if you’ve been paying attention to popular music in the last few years, you’ve definitely seen her work. The stylist and art director’s hand is immediately recognizable in the witchy, borderline-spiritual looks of Zola Jesus and Chelsea Wolfe that seem to draw inspiration from the occult, fetish wear, and fantasy. But a new project could bring her out into the light as an artist in her own right.

When we announced that Dan “Looking For a Girlfriend” Perino would be speed dating at our Bedford + Bowery Bazaar, a “Concerned EVer” commented, “This person has made such an ass of himself in the EV that I cannot imagine ANYONE actually being interested in him.” Either that commenter has access to a Sharpie or others feel the same way, because here, above, is what someone has done with at least two flyers announcing Perino’s new Indiegogo campaign.

Three times per week, she posts new content on her YouTube channel, Random Ass Girly Channel. She used to helm an online talk show called Coffey Chat.

Bureau of General Services Queer Division Raises Funds For a New Home

The Bureau of General Services – Queer Division, a trailblazing bookstore and event space on the Lower East Side, will launch an indiegogo campaign on Friday to secure a more permanent home.

Since November, Strange Loop Gallery has played temporary host to The Bureau. Originally meant to last two months, the arrangement between both operations went swimmingly, so a couple-month visit turned into eight.
