Thousand Dollar Listing Guy Gets Hired By Million Dollar Listing Guy

Take Million Dollar Listing New York, add some Lonely Island-esque musical comedy, subtract a few zeros, and you’ve got Thousand Dollar Listing. Created by and starring 30-year-old struggling apartment broker Noah Kaplan, the series pilot sheds light on the tough-sell conditions (no windows, no AC) that characterize low(er)-cost tenements in Williamsburg and Bushwick, and keep Kaplan from pocketing even relatively petty commissions.

Renderings of Extell’s ‘Poor Door’ Released at Community Meeting

Now that the pile drivers have finished work on the foundations of Extell’s controversial 80-story behemoth on 252 South Street (known as One Manhattan Square), it’s pretty much a done deal.

And last night, a group of Lower East Side residents gathered at the Manny Cantor Center not to protest, this time anyway, but to discuss the inevitable construction issues (like the ones we started seeing almost immediately with the Domino development) and learn more details about the affordable housing portion of the development. Adding to the interiors released a couple weeks ago which included designer bags, the new renderings depict even more things to make rich people feel comfortable, including what’s essentially a “poor door” or, in this case, an entirely separate building.

The View From Atop Jupiter 21, the NoHo [Sic] Building That Killed Mars Bar

Oh hey, here’s the roofdeck of Jupiter 21, the luxury building, opening July 15, where a TD Bank will replace the former Mars Bar on the ground floor. There’s no pool up here, but a sales rep told us the deck will eventually feature “misting stations” and outdoors showers — because why would anyone want to sunbathe by the wet bar and be all gross when they get back to their $3,475 studio?
