Club Cumming on Facebook)

Back in April, Page Six brought word that actor and man-about-town Alan Cumming was teaming up with the owners of East Village gay bar Eastern Bloc (including Anderson Cooper’s boif, Ben Maisani) to relaunch the beloved bar as Club Cumming. The mini cabaret, which had promised a “very quiet” opening, is soft-launching Wednesday, and the folks behind Club Cumming have revealed the initial lineup, which includes a smattering of appearances by some local nightlife legends.

The club was described by Cumming’s rep as “a home for everyone of all ages, all genders, all sexualities, who all enjoy letting go and making some mischief.” The mischief will cumm in the form of fetes like Throat, presented by Michael T, of the notorious Motherfucker parties, and Daniel Nardicio, who won the admiration of the Times for mixing gogo boys with duets pairing Cumming and Liza Minnelli. Friday’s installment will feature a deep-throat banana contest.

Speaking of duets, on Sept. 23 former Voice scribe Michael Musto will be doing them with special guests like fellow party fixture Mickey Boardman, of Paper, and Aaron Weinstein, the composer and multi-instrumentalist who will also play jazz on various nights, including Wednesday’s soft opening.

Musto once legendary Meatpacking club Crisco Disco on his list of edgiest NYC nightclubs “that shall never be recaptured,” but Club Cumming will try to do just that on Sept. 24 when it hosts a Sunday-evening Crisco Disco cummback with DJ Steve Cunningham, who has done similar ones in Los Angeles. On Sept. 20, Richard Boch, doorman at another legendary nightclub, Mudd Club, will join other authors and read from his new memoir about the club.

It looks like Cumming is getting some of his fellow actor/performers in on this, too. Paul Iacono, who played the titular character in MTV’s The Hard Times of RJ Berger, is presenting a night called Kismet on Sept. 22, and Amber Martin is singing elevator music on Sept. 29. Plus, Jack Aaronson is doing a version of the “Casting Couch” piano sing-a-longs he’s done at Marie’s Crisis Lounge and on Fire Island.

All that and Cumming himself will be hosting a recurring Haus of Cumming, featuring music, drag queens, and “men on blocks in jocks.” An invite to the Sept. 16 installment declares, “505 East 6th has been a queer space for over 30 years, let’s keep the good times rolling.”

Here’s what’s cumming up.
