We’re kind of bummed that Alamo Drafthouse hasn’t brought its Jaws on the Water screenings to NYC, but here’s something equally beachy and immersive. The dine-in theater just announced a screening of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind that will truly carrey you away (sorry).
Snag tickets for “Meet Me in Montauk” and, on August 12, you’ll get shuttled around to some of the places where Michel Gondry shot the film that became the favorite of every single person on Myspace. According to a Curbed map, those locations include the Ocean Surf Resort> and the old Plaza Restaurant (fun fact: the beach house that Joel and Clementine break into is actually in Wainscott). If you saw this film so along ago that it’s like you hired Lacuna, Inc. to erase all memories of it, this whirlwind tour might be lost on you, but don’t worry: the day will end at the super swank Gurney’s Resort, where you’ll get to fall in love with the film all over again while lounging on a bed on the beach, just like Joel and Clementine did. (Thankfully, it will not be the thick of winter.)
As you can imagine, tickets for the screening are “super-duper limited”– you’re advised to look out for the on-sale announcement, on August 4, by following the event’s producer, < a href="https://twitter.com/bmoviesd">following Birth.Movies.Death., on Twitter.
