Here’s surveillance footage of the man suspected of slashing a stranger’s face in broad daylight in the East Village.

Around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the man you see in these videos allegedly approached a pedestrian on East 6th Street, near Cooper Square, knocked him down, and cut him with an unknown object, the police say. The victim went to the hospital with a large cut to the face and a smaller cut in his back.

The suspect, photographs of whom are below, is described as an Asian man in his 20s, about 5’6″ and 150 pounds. He was last seen in a black jacket and pants, skull cap, and brown boots.

164-16 Robbery 9 Pct PHOTOThe slashing is one of two East Village incidents publicized by the NYPD in the past week. Around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, a mugger walked off with $150 after approaching a 27-year-old woman inside of an elevator near East 12th Street and 3rd Avenue and simulating a gun. The victim wasn’t harmed; the suspect is shown at left.
