After turns in downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, and Crown Heights, Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg’s winter market reopened in Sunset Park this past weekend, in the sunny confines of Industry City. The new, 50,000 square-foot location is sprawling, with one wing dedicated to dozens of Smorgasburg vendors and the other housing 100+ Brooklyn Flea vendors hawking vintage and handmade goods — everything from Brooklyn Brewery beer soap to artisanal horseradish.

There are several lounging locations, including picnic tables, a corner where kids can draw and play games (Park Slope is nearby, after all), and, adjacent a coffee and doughnut stand, a sun-drenched lounge with a view of Hudson Bay and the Statue of Liberty. Sunday afternoon, Santa Salsa was mobbed, but crowds were otherwise chill and the space was a breeze to navigate. (Pro tip: skip the lines for Venezuelan hot dogs and get the Fletcher’s Barbecubano, a mind-blowing Cuban sandwich made with smoked meat and house-cured ham.)
