We’re off till Tuesday, folks. If you’re staying in town and looking for something to do, the B+B events calendar is at your service. And if you’re heading to the beach, listen here: the folks over at Rockaway Summer, who’ve been running a gift “hive” at the Riis Park Beach Bazaar, are lending even more pizzazz to the People’s Beach this weekend.

On Sunday, they’re celebrating the release of their new issue by getting artists to do up the giant plywood boards that cover the beach’s long disused 1930s bathhouse.

Among those contributing Rockaway-inspired art are zine maestro Lele Saveri and local photographer Beth Perkins, who also has a Rockaway-centric show up at the Surf Club. Others include Roe Ethridge, Samantha Casolari, Daniel Zender, Greer Muldowney, Poppy de Villeneuve, Jean Jullien, Leah Goren, Olimpia Zagnoli, Pacifico Silano, Nick Girlando, Beth Perkins, Shane Murphy.

From 1 p.m. onwards, local artist Tracey Greene will be painting at the bathhouse, and in September the project will continue on the beach’s handball courts.
