It’s officially been a year since Dunkin’ did its plunkin’ on Cooper Square, but its venerable neighbor to the left, Cafe Zaya, soldiers on, doling out delicious cheese domes, rice triangles, and all the rest. Today we found this on the pastry shelf. A “potato salad doughnut.” It’s exactly what it sounds like: a lump of potato salad ensconced in a thin veneer of semi-sweat dough. But it’s so much better than it sounds like. In fact, it’s #amazing. Feast your eyes on the cross-section, below.
