If you’re a regular reader of Bedford + Bowery, then you know The Regulars. Thanks to Joshua D. Fischer’s column, you know where Andrew W.K. likes to bring his own Jaeger, where Jad Abumrad of “Radiolab” gets his Black Sabbath fix, and where Pat Kiernan goes to hang with “real people” in Williamsburg. And if you’re a regular at one of our local bookstores, we’ve got good news: the series — which has also featured Anna Sale, Kevin Corrigan, Jessica Pimentel and, well, some regular folk as well — is now becoming a book.
We’re happy to announce that Meet the Regulars will be published by Skyhorse Publishing around this time next year. According to Fischer, the 200-page tome will expand the column’s coverage beyond the regulars of Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick to include still more Brooklyn neighborhoods, and will feature musings about what it means to be a regular, color photos, and maybe even a fun map. It’ll aim to reveal “the great power in the connections we make with the people and places where we live,” Fischer tells us.
This is all very exciting — if you want to follow along as our baby grows up and moves to a cramped, overcrowded bookstore shelf in Bushwick that we hopefully won’t have to co-sign for, follow the author and book on Twitter and Instagram.
