Back when we told you about The Cause B Show, a comedy night dedicated to airing issues of import to North Brooklyn, the borough’s own Hannibal Buress hadn’t yet set off the media firestorm that made Bill Cosby synonymous with “putting the pills in the people.”

Needless to say, the organizers of The Cause B Show have rethought the name after “a little snafu with our selected celebrity pun.” We doubt Cosby’s folks issued a cease and desist — they seem to have their hands full these days. Nevertheless, The Cause B Show is now The Kevin Causener Show (because the Macaulay Culkin Show was already taken). Someone must’ve whispered, If you rename it, they will come, and now there’s zilch chance that Gloria Allred will protest the show.

The first Causener Show, which will benefit the Lyons Community School in East Williamsburg, debuts Wednesday, Jan. 21, at The Cobra Club with the following guests:

Joyelle Johnson (opens for Dave Chapelle)
Kara Klenk (if you build it, UCB)
Gabe Pacheco
Ian Fidance
Clark Jones (Comedy at Knitting Factory)
Lance Weiss
Tim Dillon

Doors open at 8 p.m.

Correction: The original version of this post was revised to correct the original name of the event. It was the Cause B Show, not the Cosby B Show.
