A man suspected of twice forcing himself on women in the East Village may have perpetrated as many as five such acts, and police say the most recent one occurred yesterday morning.
Last month, the NYPD released surveillance footage of a man suspected of following a 25-year-old woman into her East Sixth Street apartment building and sexually assaulting her in the stairwell. A couple of weeks prior, on Dec. 16, the man had groped a 19-year-old woman in the elevator of a Roosevelt Drive building and tried to force a kiss, the police said.
Now authorities have released the following descriptions of three more incidents thought to have been committed by the same man:
Incident #3: On Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 0625 hours, within the confines of the 9 Precinct, a 25-year-old female victim was entering her apartment building when the suspect entered behind her and grabbed her buttocks. The victim screamed and the suspect fled the scene.
Incident #4: On Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 0425 hours, within the confines of the 30 Precinct, a 20-year-old female victim was entering her apartment building when the suspect entered behind her. The suspect grabbed the victim and covered her mouth, and began to forcibly touch her back and buttocks. The suspect then fled the scene.
Incident #5: On Wednesday, January 14, 2014 at 0230 hours, within the confines of the 5 Precinct, a 31-year-old female victim was opening the door of her apartment building when the suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her waist. The suspect then pulled the victim’s pants down and when the victim yelled, the suspect pushed her away and fled the scene.
The suspect, shown walking down the Bowery in the new surveillance footage above, is said to be about 5’4″ to 5’11”, 20 to 25 years old, and 150 to 180 pounds.
