Oh, hey, speaking of tequila: the stretch of Clinton between Rivington and Delancey in the Lower East Side is getting a wine shop as East Village Wine & Liquors relocates from two blocks away. The store will be taking over the former home of V.I.P Cafe & Bakery, at 80-82 Clinton Street.

We talked to the guys there and they hope to make the move by December 10, just in time to add to the holiday cheer. They decided to find a new home as their lease was expiring and the new store offers more square footage.

They also noted that Clinton Street is more heavily trafficked than its current Stanton Street home and demand will be boosted with an old-time liquor shop, Jade Fountain on Delancey Street, shut due to the construction of Essex Crossing.

The hours and phone number, 212-358-7700, will remain the same. But guys, this might be the time to rename yourselves Lower East Side Wine & Liquors.
