You’ve seen him on flyers around town — now come see Dan Perino in person! He’ll be Looking for a Girlfriend this Saturday. In Dan’s words, this is not a joke. Starting at noon, the legendary lamppost lothario will be posted up at our booth during the Bedford + Bowery Bazaar, speed-dating anyone who’s open to the possibility of a relationship morphing into something more profound. You know who you are.
To get the conversation flowing, we’ll have free beer from Brooklyn Brewery while it lasts (Torst will be selling exotic brews all day). And Greenpoint’s new apothecary, Botica & Co., will be serving up its medicinal Aphrodisiac Cocktail, featuring its alchemical “love elixir.” Get there early to sign up for a date with Dan — he’ll be there till 2 p.m. when Nancy Whang (LCD Soundsystem, The Juan Maclean) hits the decks.
So, yeah: love — and no doubt the waft from Seoul Chicken’s deep fryer — will most definitely be in the air at the Hester Street Fair this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., as you nosh on rice burgers from Yonekichi, Southern grub from Empire Biscuit, Malaysian fare from Pasar Malam and much more.
