A day after Jared Leto graced Bushwick with his presence yesterday, another actor/rocker, Jason Schwartzman, was in the East Village today. A source spotted the indie moppet on the set of Mozart in the Jungle, the Amazon original series he’s co-producing with Roman Coppola.
The show about “sex, drugs, and classical music,” based on the memoir by Blair Tindall, has filmed around the Cooper Square area in past weeks and was stationed at East Ninth Street, between Avenue A and B, earlier today. The pilot premiered on Amazon in February.
When we tried to stalk the set, they were doing some stunt work and asked everyone to stay on the sidewalk across the street. So alas, there was no chance of glimpsing stars Gael Garcia Bernal (The Motorcycle Diaries), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), and Lola Kirke (Gone Girl). If they were even there.
But, hey, at least we’ll get to Schwartman in Alex Ross Perry’s Listen Up Philip when it hits theaters Oct. 17. Trailer below.
