East Village pintxos bar Huertas isn’t even half a year old, but like relatively recent startups Brooklyn Grange and Kings County Distillery it’ll be the subject of a new book. Karin Stabiner — who co-authored Family Table, about the family meals at Danny Meyer’s restaurants — has chosen the newcomer and its chef Jonah Miller, a vet of Meyer’s Maialino, as the subject of her next one. Here’s the memo from the Deals section of Publisher’s Marketplace (subscription required).

Journalist and Columbia Journalism School faculty member Karen Stabiner’s GENERATION CHEF, the story of rising star chef Jonah Miller and the creation, opening, and first make-or-break year of his new East Village restaurant Huertas; and a broader chronicle of restaurant culture in the United States over the past half-century, tracing the evolution of today’s hyper-competitive food world that demands not only outsized talent in the kitchen, but business savvy, incredible persistence, and, ultimately, a giant leap of faith, to Lucia Watson at Avery, by Eric Lupfer at William Morris Endeavor (NA).

So there you have it: if you want to be immortalized in print, grab some sangria at Huertas in the next months and say something highly quotable.
