Now that Adam Driver is spreading his wings (witness his brotastic wingman character in the just-out What If) and now that Hannah is off to grad school, she’s going to need a new gentleman caller on the upcoming season of Girls.
We may just have ID’d him (don’t look below if you don’t wanna know). Yesterday when Girls turned South 2nd into a winter wonderland, we totally recognized the actor that Lena Dunham was walking hand-in-hand with. But we couldn’t quite place him. After about half an hour of Googling “everyone Liz Lemon dated” and “guys Mindy awkwardly banged on Mindy Project,” we still couldn’t ID the dude — until hours later, when it dawned on us that he played a boyfriend not alongside Tina Fey but alongside another SNL alum, Jenny Slate — in Obvious Child. Obviously! The guy is Jake Lacy, who also romanced that receptionist in The Office (what the hell was her name?).
Between this and Wednesday’s news that Lacy will have a recurring character on Girls, it’s probably safe to assume he’ll be Hannah’s new beau — or at least the dorky guy she hooks up with over winter break who causes her to be like, “He’s so much sweeter than that brooding, alcoholic writing prof who’s cheating on his wife with me. Dilemmaaaaaa!”
