RMA-939-14-Assault_suspect-PIC-1Police say they’ve arrested the man who attacked and killed 68-year-old Wen Hui Ruan while he was walking down East Sixth Street on Friday night.

Twenty-year-old Jamie Pugh, a resident of the Lillian Wald Houses on Avenue D, was taken into custody today after a tipster gave up his location, a police rep said. He’s being charged with attempted robbery, assault, and murder in the second degree.

Police do not believe Pugh knew Ruan, a retired garment factory worker who died at Bellevue Hospital after being flung against a wall and then punched and kicked in the head.
