Over the weekend we made a quick jaunt to Montreal’s Mile End — our Williamsburg away from Williamsburg — and noticed yellow signs reading “Brooklyn” all over town.
Has the borough achieved such cultural cache that signs now point to it all the way from Notre-Dame Basilica? Probs not: even if Korean hipsters are sporting Williamsburg jackets, everyone knows Brooklyn is over.
Turns out, Brooklyn — Nick Hornby’s film adaptation of Colm Toibin’s novel about an Irish lad who comes to NYC in the 1950s — was shooting in at least three different locations.
