Here are three opportunities for you to break out your #celebphoto hashtag on Instagram.
At Barnes & Noble Union Square tonight at 7 p.m., comedian Seth Herzog will interview Bob Saget about the fellow stand-up’s new book, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian (HarperCollins, $26.99). Priority seating will be given to those who buy copies of the book, starting at 5 p.m. Saget (Full House, America’s Funniest Home Videos, narrator on How I Met Your Mother) will be signing books. Just books, so don’t bring in DJ Tanner’s pillow.
Thursday night at 5 p.m. at the Apple Store Soho, Nicolas Cage and director David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) will talk about their new movie, Joe. In the film, The New York Times reports, Cage plays Joe, a “surrogate father” to a teenage boy who gives “paternal lessons” such as “teaching him how to drink beer and woo girls.” Reservations are free.
That evening at 7 p.m. at Strand, actor/comedian John Leguizamo will read his essay from the new book Greenwich Village Stories: A Collection of Memories (Rizzoli, $29.95). Attendees must purchase either the book or a $15 Strand gift card. Leguizamo’s new one-man special, Ghetto Klown, premiered this weekend on HBO. This winter someone paid $800 to play a game of basketball with him; the auction raised legal funds to fight proposed NYU expansion (Leguizamo breifly studied theatre at NYU in the 80s).
