There’ll soon be twice the Vice on North 11th Street.
A source at Vice Media now confirms that it will expand its Williamsburg headquarters into the adjacent space that Beacon’s Closet vacated last month.
A move-in date hasn’t yet been set, but construction is underway to renovate the site to suit the needs of the growing youth media company.
“We’re kind of expanding rapidly,” the source said, indicating that the new turf will alleviate some of the crowding at Vice’s current office and also accommodate future hires.
In September, Crain’s reported that Vice was “interested” in the Beacon’s space; in October, a spokesperson told us there wasn’t yet a plan to move in.
Beacon’s Closet re-opened in Greenpoint this past weekend.
