There’s going to be a full moon this Sunday, so naturally women in Brooklyn will be blessing H2O in a sacred bowl, drinking it, and then pouring the remainder into the East River. This Full Moon Water Ceremony will be taking place at Carriage House Birth, Williamsburg’s hippest birth collective (a collective of doulas) owned by Samantha Huggins, Lindsey Bliss and Domino Kirke – daughter of Bad Company’s Simon Kirke, and sister to Girls’ Jemima Kirke.

Everyone knows the best thing for a hangover is water, although a strong argument could be made for sipping on mimosas, stoned, while poking at French toast, and gossiping; luckily the hour-long ceremony doesn’t start until six, so there’s time for both. According to Carriage House Birth’s website, “The Full Moon is the most powerful time for working with water, ‘the Mother of All’.” The ceremony also comes with a recommendation from a friendly girl who participates in nude, group meditation.

This event is women only, but fear not gentleman, just across the river, East Village’s oldest occult store, Enchantments, will be holding a co-ed celebration. Members of their event are encouraged to come howling, and to “live a little,” but it’s probably safe to assume those actions are welcome at both ceremonies.

The Full Moon Water Ceremony takes place this sunday at 6pm at Carriage House Birth, 97 North 7th Street between Berry and Wythe.
