Russom guarding the beer at the B+B Bazaar. (Scott Lynch)
Last time we caught up with Gavin Russom of The Crystal Ark (he’s also played with LCD Soundsystem), he was DJing our own B+B Bazaar. Yesterday the producer/musician/analog-synth whiz dropped a new mix (listen to it below) and next Friday he’ll work the decks at what looks like another fun party.
On Feb. 14, Fine & Raw is turning its chocolate factory, at 288 Siegel Street, over to what the event’s organizer, 108 Lives Project, is calling a #Bushwick Love Party. There’ll be food from Bunna Cafe and “Deviant Chef” Moe Adams, local artwork up for auction, and the chance to win a free trip to Nepal.
To get in, just donate whatever you want at the door, which opens at 8 p.m. — funds go toward the non-profit’s efforts to support orphanages and schools to Kathmandu.
Here, now, is “Spiral,” a DJ set Russom cut toward the end of 2013 with the intention of “creating a meaningful energy curve and bringing in new and old music that speaks to me.”
